East Asian States’ Potential Leadership
On June 15, 2023, the Inha Center for International Studies and DILA-KOREA, sponsored by the Academy of Korean Studies, co-organized a roundtable at the Canon Institute for Global Studies in Tokyo, particularly on the topic of 'East Asian States' Potential Leadership'.
The roundtable was co-chaired by Kohtaro Ito, Senior Research Fellow at the Canon Institute for Global Studies, Professor Seokwoo Lee (Inha University) and Jean-Young Lee, Director of the Inha Center for International Studies. There were two sessions of presentations and discussions.
The topic of the first session was ‘East Asia and Geopolitical Competition in the Indo-Pacific Region’, and the topic of the second session was ‘Japan’s Release of Contaminated/Treated Water from Fukushima: Contemporary Issues and Challenges’. The presenters at the roundtable were Shinsuke Sugiyama, former Japanese Ambassador to the United States, Professor Won-Mog Choi (Ewha Womans University), and Professor Seokwoo Lee (Inha University).
